One year ago I created this account specifically for 2014. It was meant to be an online documentation of my year. And what a year it has been. 

In 2014 I:

Barely completed two terms at Western Oregon University

Finished a short story I started writing in 2012

Fell madly (obsessively, frighteningly) in love with Harry Styles

Engaged in a secret love affair for about six weeks

Cried in exactly two professors’ offices

Quit school

Ran a half marathon

Roadtripped across America with my best friend

Had a dog die

Worked two jobs

Moved home

Stopped shaving

Bought my own space on the internet (katebirdjohnson.com)

Turned 22

And read 26 books.

So now, with one week left in the year, I am anxious to get to 2015. It holds much promise.

A trip to Mexico

A One Direction Concert

A backpacking trip

A trip to Minnesota

And (hopefully) a new school in a new city.

The cool thing about not shaving anymore is that all my friends and family members that are women will come up to me and show off any leg and armpit hair that they have grown longer than a week, or tell me wonderful stories about how they shocked people with said hair. And they will preface it with “Grace, you’d be so proud of me”.
And I am.
I am proud.
